“Shh... shh! Be quiet for a moment! Be quiet, because I am putting love to sleep!” “Love?!” you asked, your eyes wide with surprise! “Yes, yes, love! Why are you surprised? Even love sleeps, even love gets tired!” You smiled innocently, as if thinking I was crazy! Then I looked at you reproachfully and began to speak with zeal: “Yes, yes, I hold love in my hands! It came and landed on me like an exhausted butterfly after wandering through endless flowers across the world.”
You looked at your hands, staring at me as if you were seeing the devil. “Hey, have you gone crazy? Love in your hands? Hahaha!” “Why are you laughing?” I asked. “Tell me, what is love, or is it those butterflies in the stomach, as they say?”
“Well...”
“No! Love is everything we want! You know about pearls? Many are created in their likeness, they shine brighter, cost little, but are worth nothing at all! Love is just like that! Many try to imitate it, but anyone who does not follow the right path is left in disappointment.”
“But whic...”
“Wait! Which is the right path? Place your hands on your chest and listen... its beats are the only infallible path, the only true one. It never lies! What does it matter when someone doesn’t love us?! Love loves for itself and not for others!”
It is born innocent like that in a being in the world, but not in every being, by no means! Love demands space, and it comes to you only when you let go of yourself!
“If others heard you, they would...”
“Be quiet! I know! But others are shallow, they live and feed on a piece of bread soiled with honor! Not me! Look at my hands! In them I have cradled both hatred and wickedness. They came to me seeking mercy, like Snow White’s witch, and I tucked them in my hands, warming them with the breath of my chest!”
However, as soon as they recovered, they bit my fingers and dashed off in search of another prey! I did not chase them because I had no strength! They had bitten my soul, because broken trust, ingratitude, and hypocrisy only come masked, and like everything else, they naturally leave a void when they depart.
Now, even though I don't know how to tell them apart, because in truth I have never cared to remember them, I have tried to forget them as quickly as possible, just so they wouldn't hurt me anymore, now I feel them far away! I fed them, but with love, which is why they bit me! But what does it matter!
In my own way, I love everything bad, and so the bad grows fierce! The devil tempts you, tries to persuade you, and if you resist without breaking, he lashes out at you twice as hard! Of course, he feels insulted! But tiny fragments of goodness have often embraced me! Without them, I wouldn't have been able to heal the wounds on my hands, reflected in my soul!
Goodness is scarce and costs a lot! This is the challenge of life! Evil is sold cheap! Now look at the moon for a moment... Who can touch it? No one, even though many dream of it! There, exactly like that! The ideal is like the moon, it is reflected higher and higher, and it scatters happiness in fragments of dying stars! It is often reflected in puddles of water, but even there they look at it with indifference, so it never comes down. Happiness does not hold a grudge against us, but it knows that if it were given to us freely, we would trample it underfoot!
So, my dear, seek goodness in every little thing; it hides in the corners, because it risks being violated by unworthy people! Guard your hands; if you do not cradle love, at least do not cradle hatred!
