For my unforgettable father
Your car parked in the alleysits in silence, as if dressed in mourning,it seems its heart has stopped beating too, since that day when you parted from us.
It was the car of our dreams, you were our hero behind the wheel, with smiling eyes, coming home from work, you drove us through the streets until late at night.
You knew how to turn it into a joyful room, where the radio, the music, and the jokes boomedand it felt as if you were leading us by the handfrom Qafë e Thanës all the way to Mal të Thatë.
Just as you knew how to warm up the house, when you welcomed guests with eyes shining bright, with your jokes you made the toasts more pleasantand the house would fill with joy and light.
In the evening we would sit at Turizmi i Vjetëryou and mom drank wine, we had orangeade and ice creamwith that love that flowed from you so naturallyyou always brought us the world of childhood.
From afar we come again to the old threshold, with a bouquet of flowers and tears in our eyes, the car in the alley lets no one else near,to invite us inside, it waits only for you…
