for my mother
The years pass and the two of us, more connected than ever, fight for the best in this world. To create in me a person with intoxicating virtues, and this, my precious, you have achieved without the slightest doubt, more and more every day. If people have watched me grow and marvel at my physical beauty, you, my heroine, have watched me grow more beautiful on the inside every single time... and this is solely thanks to you! You have taught me that if God gives you a gift, it is luck, but knowing how to use it is a skill! You have also taught me that suffering makes you grow, that indifference kills. You have taught me to love fiercely.... (I will leave it at that... you understand me!) I always repeat this last one to myself, mother, but what holds the most value is your noble gesture, my iron princess. I ADORE YOU!!!! This is the right word, even though it feels so empty compared to what I feel. I wish I could be just 1% of what you are, and I would die happy! YOU ARE the most wonderful person I have ever known in my life and I am PROUD to be your little daughter. Furthermore, my life, whoever dares
to hurt you will see me turn into a hyena and themselves into my meal.. They would see me turn into a tower, the biggest in the world, to protect you... And you, from a lioness, would become my little cub. I cannot find the words I need right now. You have read a lot of my writing and this perhaps is not one of the most beautiful pieces, but I wanted to show you my appreciation for you as the best mother in the world, and not just because every child thinks that about their mother, but because you ARE!!! YOU ARE wonderful and today I am only telling you one thing, my friend: “Fight for what you love most (after me :)). LITERATURE.” With your love verses I am sure you would amaze Lasgush Poradeci, and if Beethoven had the chance to read your etudes with his music in the background, he would have understood what a marvel he had composed, and the fact that he was deaf would not have been an obstacle. I am closing with the customary wish, but I cannot wish you to live to be a hundred. To me you are immortal, my fairytale legend. May you be happy every day of your life!!!!!!!
Your little daughter,
Ina (FOR MY MUÇI)
