I have seen women, killed unseen every day,Locked in the prison of a house with windows. There are those who stay killed their whole lives,Without a ray of hope to take from life.
There are women killed by the weight of life,They cook and they wash, and get their rewards.Let us give the word the weight of truth,Silence, locked in the prisons of their souls.
I have seen men dressed in ties,Who are washed clean by her hands. But facing them, never a smile,As if cleanliness were somehow a crime.
I have seen, and what haven’t I seen,Men washed and ironed by women.Who let words loose like unwashed clothes,Battering them with the bullets of hurt.
They always let words loose for free,Though they wear a tie like a halter round their necks..
