The Poem “The Symphonies”
With your tongue you spoke to the world,To the deaf world! You shook it with the deep breath of a giant soul. You drew from it the winter they gifted you…
Strange!Did their thoughts deafen you? You,You put their howls into the flute,Into trombones and turned them into symphonies…Sometimes with the howling of clouds,Sometimes with a harsh autumn and downpours. The world spoke in howls,You snatched them and turned them into chimes. The frosts of time placed in the chest of an oboeSpoke in notes, better than by mouth…
The world fell silent.Fell silent and marveled,While suffering was watered with pain…Time thrashed about in your creation…It moved,Conducted with hands and feet..Shouted: “He is deaf!”It did not ask,Where is the beginning,Where the thunder came from,Why it led to deafness?
Beethoven,Could not…The eardrum of his earsWas for harmonized sounds…Not for the howls and the injustice,That in the body of a starving world…Drank blood at the mother's breast.
BeethovenDid not go deaf but fell silent,When the Serb slaughtered Kosovo and laughed…He snatched the sounds of pain from the vineyard,That which he never forgot,He cast into notes, made it an overture…Then he built a bridge,The bridge of truthThat binds and slaughters victims…That breeds barking and howling in the world…To the one that combs its hair in pools of blood,And smiles and hides behind treachery.
Beethoven,Was not deaf.He spoke to the world walking down the streets…His body,A high mountain…Was a monument laden with art…He spoke with the soundsTaken from the mountain ranges…Where nations carried their troubles on their shoulders…Turned into a monument on the streets of ViennaHe was the conductor of the world-stage…He let out everywhere, by way of chiming,His bellIn the world of deafness…Beethoven heard well from his ears,From the ears of a talented man…But, he left the impression of a deaf one…This is proven byThe worthy sounds, laden with wind..That race across the keyboard…In them blew the symphonies…Storms that tore every day,Torn papers, the injustices…The world was deaf,To the talented Beethoven…But hasn't the time after himShown the opposite?
