IN MY COUNTRY
Trees blossom twice a yearSometimes they ripen twice,But, through human errorHere the forests burn.
People live on waterBy water they are often flooded,But, through human errorThey go without drinking water.
There are plenty of universitiesSpecialists of every age,But, through human errorAn empty mind directs.
There are plenty of roads herePaved several times overThrough a human errorLike patched-up clothes.
The boulevards have lightsOften with photocells,But, through human errorIn the dark you must walk with care.
A poet friend of mineHas written about this land,If only, as brave as it is,It were just as wise.
